Director of The Netherlands Agency for Aerospace Programmes (from 2009 Director NSO): MijnAkker.nl is one of the pearls which the Netherlands in recent years has produced related to the use of space. It is a textbook example of how space supports social and economic objectives. Started with scientific research at Wageningen University BasFood delivers with Mijnakker.nl customized information to help farmers better understand how their crops develop. The information from space makes it possible to place fertilizers and water on specific places in the fields. This knife cuts both ways: it is better for the environment, and the farmer has lower costs on fertilizers and higher yields.

With subsidy programs the NIVR supports since many years this and similar innovations. We are proud that MijnAkker.nl has grown and will go to the Dutch and European market. Also in the coming years, the NIVR support such innovations.
